Swishh: the journey from a pink bike photo to building a Hungarian community-driven sports brand
There’s a moment when something completely ordinary—a photo, a sentence, a tiny impulse—suddenly sets something in motion inside you. For me, that happened in 2013, in Stockholm.
At the time, I was an au pair for a Swedish family, and I randomly came across a photo on Instagram: a pink TREK time trial bike. It stopped me in my tracks. Not because it was “just pretty” (back then, I actually hated the color pink), but because it carried this strange kind of energy—neon design, freedom, and that instant wow feeling you never forget.
The photo was taken during a triathlon race. I fell down the rabbit hole: What even is triathlon? That’s when I read about the Hawaii World Championship and Ironman for the first time in my life—and right then and there, I promised myself: one day, I’ll be an Ironman. That’s where it all began.
With the money I saved in Stockholm, I bought my first road bike in the spring of 2014. In 2015, I really started riding on the road, and by August, I completed an Olympic-distance triathlon at Kopaszi-gát in Budapest. A year later, I made the decision: this is going to be my sport. In the fall of 2016, I joined the KisTri team, where I trained and raced for nine years. Around the same time, I started university too—I graduated as an industrial design engineer, specializing in apparel and accessories. Sport and design stayed intertwined for me the whole way through—and somewhere during those university years, the idea of building my own brand showed up for the first time. Back then, it didn’t feel like a real option. It was more like a distant dream. Something you love to imagine… but don’t quite dare to say out loud.
Swishh was born from an inner voice—and a gap
In May 2024, I started talking seriously about founding a brand with friends for the first time. By then, something was clearly shifting in me: there was a direction calling me—and there was something missing.
For me, Swishh was born from both an inner voice and a market gap.
That inner voice kept pushing me to create a brand and a space that isn’t only about performance—but also about how you feel while you’re chasing your dream. A community where sport isn’t pressure, it’s a place and time to recharge yourself. A place where people can learn from each other, connect with each other, and build both mental and physical well-being along the way.
And the gap was very real: the lack of colorful, character-rich sportswear. No matter how many sites I opened or collections I scrolled through, I couldn’t find jerseys with patterns that truly felt like me. That’s when the thought hit me: if I’m searching this hard, other people probably are too. What if I combined design—and the educational/healing power of community—in one brand?
That’s how Swishh was born: from a personal need and a clear vision.
So… what is Swishh, really?
Swishh is a Hungarian triathlon and lifestyle sportswear brand that puts physical and mental balance at the center—through sport.
But I want to be clear: Swishh isn’t only apparel.
Swishh is also a community space. A platform where we want to support people with events, education, content, and real opportunities to connect—especially those who don’t only want performance from sport, but want to feel better in everyday life. To have an anchor. A rhythm. A place that gives inspiration—and where they can also give something back to others.
Who is Swishh for?
In short: anyone who wants to connect.
No matter your age, gender, or fitness level, you’re welcome here if our message speaks to you. You can be a total beginner or an experienced athlete—we’re equally curious about you.
And we especially want to invite those who want to share their experience with others: whether it’s sport, mental health, building routines, or anything related. We’re not looking for “perfect people.” We’re looking for real stories we can build from. Your stories.
How we think about products
Our products are built on athlete experience. We don’t start from theory—we start from real life: how a jersey or a pair of shorts performs in real training, on real bodies, in real conditions.
As a new brand, we’re learning and evolving—and we genuinely rely on feedback: fabric, sizing, comfort, details. We believe a product is never truly “finished”—there’s always something to refine. And at Swishh, we believe the best way to do that is together.
Community isn’t an extra for us—it’s the core
Community is our center.
We believe we can do more together. We grow from each other’s stories, experiences, and practical tips. We want Swishh to be a safe place—where free thinking is welcome, and where support matters more than judgment.
We’re not inviting you to compete against each other. We’re inviting you to connect.
That’s one of Swishh’s most important values—and we won’t compromise on it.
What we won’t compromise on
There are a few things that aren’t just “nice ideas” for us—they’re non-negotiables:
- mutual respect
- mental safety
- product quality
- transparent, responsible brand-building
These four stay true even as the brand grows, the market shifts, or an “easier” path shows up. Swishh can only stay authentic this way.
Where we’re headed next
In the short term, two things really excite me:
- launching a Swishh podcast titled “Mozgásban a Lélek” (Soul in Motion)—focused on the mental side of sport, routines, real stories, and growth
- starting a Slow Runner running club in Budapest—creating space for people who want to move in a community at a slower pace than most running clubs
Long term, I have one big dream: I want to build our own sewing studio and bring production back home from abroad.
Closing
When I think back to that 2013 photo of the pink TREK bike, I don’t just see “that’s where it started.” I see the moment an entire direction was born inside me: a new goal, the meeting point of sport and design, the idea of community, and a way of life that doesn’t take away—but adds something to everyday life.
That’s what Swishh wants to pass on.
Not a perfect pace. Not a perfect form. But a space where you can grow, connect, and genuinely feel good along the way.
This is Swishh.
